Island Park is a gorgeous little town in northern Idaho only 14 miles from Yellowstone. It is also near Harriman State Park, Henry’s Fork, and a plethora of other fun outdoorsy spots. I highly recommend visiting Island Park any season of the year. It’s gorgeous year-round. If you do visit Island Park, there are awesome cabins to rent or, if you want to be more outdoorsy and camp, there are also many places to do that too.
I have been to Island Park a couple of times while living in Idaho, but never in snow. I thought an elopement styled shoot in the snow would look super gorgeous with the white snow against the green trees and I was not wrong!!
With an amazing couple, a gorgeous backdrop, and a surprise dusting of snow, my vision came to life! Qait and Michael were the perfect couple! They had been married for 12 years at the time and you wouldn’t be able to tell. They’re still so in love and it shows in these pictures. Coincidently, the day they modeled for me was also the 13-year anniversary of their proposal. That was a happy coincidence.
For the shoot, I had them write letters to each other and they were the sweetest vows. They are still best friends, still love to tease and have fun with each other, and still show so much affection. People say that kids change your relationship, they are living proof that kids do not kill relationships or love. After 12 years and 3 kids together, they are more in love with each other than the day they got married. Plus, she was still able to fit in her wedding dress!! How awesome is that??
After meeting and getting to know them, I found a couple to model our relationship after. In 12+ years, I want a relationship like Qait and Michael’s.
