I’m always looking to push the limits of what is traditionally done in a wedding dress. I love dirty, sandy, dresses because they’re proof of the adventure the dress has gone on. Especially when you go ATVing in your wedding dress! There’s sand, dirt, grime, etc that can prove the adventure.
On a windy day, Beau & Taylor met me at the St. Anthony sand dunes with their dirt bike & ATV. They had gotten married a few months previous to meeting me and rode their toys on their wedding day but not in their wedding gear. When I asked them if they’d be comfortable modeling for me with their toys and in their wedding gear, they agreed with a resounding, “HECK YES!!”
We met at the parking lot and Taylor got dressed in a janky pit toilet then we got on the toys and drove out to a nice hill. There was no way we were going to be alone since it was a super popular place to go ATVing but we made it work. And somehow made it fun in the process.
Just by thinking of ATVing in a wedding dress, you’d think it would be hard or unsafe but Taylor made it look boss! As long as you keep the dress away from the wheels and keep moving it works.
In amongst the wind and other ATVers, there were lots of smiles and giggles. They were a cute couple who had gone through hell and back just to be together. They believe in marriage the good, the bad, the bitter, and the sweet. Which is perfect for keeping the honeymoon alive. The honeymoon doesn’t have to end once the butterflies leave. The honeymoon is there when you are intentional about your relationship and make each other a priority.
